By realizing that your attention is your most precious asset, you can manage it more effectively to make better use of your time. Our attention is constantly being pulled in different directions by various apps, notifications, and pop-ups designed to keep us hooked. It's challenging to maintain our focus amidst these interruptions. Research shows that when you're deeply focused and get interrupted โ e.g. by a notification of a new e-mail coming in โ it can take up to 15 minutes to regain your concentration. Imagine being interrupted 4 times an hour (which is realistic) โ itโs nearly impossible to get anything meaningful done. Reflect on when your attention is at its peak โ those 2-3 hours a day. During one of my 'How to be a #ProductivityNinja' full-day training sessions last week, we were working on the impact of having a #WeeklyReview moment. One of the participants shared a key question to ask yourself on a Friday morning that resonated with everyone: "What actions should I take today to ensure a peaceful, work stress-free weekend?" So, what actions should you complete today to ease into the weekend peacefully?Learn more about the Weekly Review? As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky became a canvas of gold and crimson hues. In that fleeting beauty, a young delivery driver from Thuisbezorgd.nl caught my eye, pedaling quickly down the street. He suddenly hit the brakes and stopped on the bridge, his gaze transfixed by the same magnificent sunset over the canal that had me in awe. His simple act of pausing amidst the busyness and appreciating the beauty around us brought a smile to my face. The same sunset that lit up his face with joy had now illuminated mine. This scene was a stark contrast to another cyclist who sped past, oblivious to the beauty around. It reminded me of how often we rush through our days, missing the simple wonders that can bring us joy and inspiration. Itโs moments like these that remind us of the importance of keeping our eyes open to the world, full of opportunities and inspiration.During my work with Think Productive Western-Europe, I often refer to ๐จ๐ป๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ผ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ ๐, the 5th Characteristic of the #ProductivityNinja. How can I break free from routine? How can I do things differently and keep my mind sharp, fresh, and energized? How can I spice it up and make it fun? This young man, despite the fast pace of his job, perfectly demonstrated this. By stopping to enjoy the sunset, he showed a key aspect of #Productivity: the ability to balance efficiency with moments of pausing, reflecting, and seeing the bigger picture. In the hustle and bustle of our daily routines, it's crucial to make space for these moments that really matter, for they enrich our work and our lives.I hope this young delivery driver can inspire you today too - to keep your eyes open for unexpected beautiful chances.Find extra inspiration? This is so spot on of how most of us feel:Having 100 things on your mind at once, with constant reminders buzzing around your mind? Did you forget to send out that meeting invite? Wake up in the middle of the night realizing you didn't follow up with a client? Only remember a crucial task during a meeting, just as your lead asks for a status update?

As knowledge workers, we find ourselves caught in the busyness trapโan endless cycle of tasks and deadlines with a lack of clarity and ability to define what the end and success look like. But what if we took a step back and prioritized a calm mind?At Think Productive Western-Europe, we help companies make space for what truly matters: less stress, achieving more, and having more fun while doing so. We base our approach on the concept of Zen Like Calm, one of the 9 Characteristics of the #ProductivityNinja, as described by Graham Allcott. This trait revolves around being present and fully focused on the task that is in front of you. Working from flow and using momentumโhaving clarity, confidence, and certainty that what you are doing at that moment is the most impactful thing to do.Let's escape the busyness trap and strive for more moments of Zen Like Calmโan effortless way of doing your work.www.thinkproductive.eu

Often when we're faced with a problem, it's tempting to immediately act without thinking. But by taking a moment to pause, think clearly, and zoom out, we often realize that the solution is within reach, sometimes even right around the corner. Last week's experience with a flat tire in Copenhagen taught me that sometimes the best action is to pause and view the situation from a broader perspective. As I was biking through Copenhagen - as a real Dutchie exploring a city - encountering a flat tire was not on my bingo card. Bringing my bike back to the hotel would be a 1-hour walk pushing my bike. Frustrated and eager to take action, I paused: it was then that I realized that the "sister" hotel was just around the corner. Swapping bikes there solved the problem instantly.A valuable lesson applicable not only to flat tires but also to life's unexpected challenges. Instead of being stuck in a narrow perspective, taking a step back and overseeing the situation from helicopter view can reveal simple solutions that were right in front of us all along.#Perspective#ProblemSolving#ProductivityNinja#PersonalKnowlegdeManagement

For me, that means questioning yourself how you can do things differently, getting unstuck, and challenging the status quo. One of my favourite methods to experiment with a fresh perspective is by starting my day with a morning walk. Stepping outside early to soak in the first rays of sunlight โ breathing in fresh air and witnessing the world awaken โ leaves me feeling energized and primed for action throughout the day. What it brought me today - besides stunning views of the awaking city bathed in precious morning light: tons of creative energy and a clarity on my week. It's all an experiment, to see what positive changes it might bring to your (work)life. Who knows what inspiration awaits you when you allow yourself to do things differently. Let me know what your experiment is and what it brings you!๐กโจ#KnowledgeWork #Productivity #Clarity #WorkingFromHome
